Both teams started well in this local derby with Bewdley attacking from the off. Chaddesley piled on the pressure but for twenty minutes Bewdley stood firm, Chaddesley's forward runners
were making Bewdley tackle and tackle well.
Chaddesley got the break through later in the first half when one of the powerful running forwards drove the ball over. Bewdley did not lose their heads and responded well tacking the game
to them. Andy Freeman was a constant threat to the much smaller Chaddesley backs and he showed just what a great signing he has been with his clear breaks in midfield.
Chaddesley scored again in the half and again just before half time flattering the score line.
In the second half Bewdley came out fired up and showed real pace around the park but found no way through from a good defensive line. By now both teams were tiring and it showed the
Bewdley pack had given its all and held the Chaddesley pack, but the Bewdley backs still had something in reserve.
Bewdley won a scrum and the fly half made a storming run into the Chaddesley 22 and off loaded the ball to give Steve Freeman the easiest of run ins. Chaddesley came back but a steal by
Andy Freeman gave his brother Steve the chance to beat 5 Chaddesley players and go in unopposed taking his tally to ten tries this season.
By this time both teams were out on their feet but it was Chaddesley who scored a couple of tries to put the gloss on the day.
The performance from the Bewdley team showed that since the earlier game in the season, which saw Chaddesley run clear by 50 points, the tremendous strides that the team has made due to
good coaching and commitment.
