Bewdley played their rearranged tie against a very strong Dudley Wasps side
Bewdley found the going very difficult from the outset against the Dudley Wasps and it became obvious that the game was going to be a damage limitation exercise.
Dudley, for the first twenty minutes were carving through the Bewdley defence like a hot knife through butter. However Bewdley performed positive work in the scrum, which once again
held firm.
Bewdley lost their hooker Neil Nicholson with a leg injury mid way through the first half but this did allow a return for Andy Horton after a sabbatical.
Dudley's pace out wide led to them scoring freely but Bewdley worked the ball within the forwards towards the end of the first half and some powerful tackling from the backs slowed the
scoring down.
Bewdley did not let their heads go down and only in the last ten minutes of the game did the scrum feel tired. From this outing it plain to see Dudley will be a force to be reckoned with in
their first season of league rugby, but it did show how far Bewdley have come on in these two years to once again show spirit and resolve for 80 minutes.
