Again Bewdley showed that they are fighting hard for their first league win of the season despite a defeat to Essington. Bewdley started well by putting severe pressure on to the Essington team. But luck showed it was not on Bewdley's side when an unfortunate bounce helped Essington to score an early converted try against the run of play.

This knocked the stuffing out of Bewdley and Essington started to turn pressure into points. Bewdley's in-form Freeman brothers found the going hard and could not turn recent good form into scoring opportunities.

Essington, however, did not have it all their own way. The Bewdley pack was again strong but what little ball did get to the backs was scrappy.

Bewdley made changes for the second half but this week found that it didn't have any adverse affect as in some previous games. Essington continued to run the game but Bewdley fought bravely. An opportunist break from Martin Saunders, which saw him run a try in from deep within his own half. Bewdley at last got onto the score sheet but it was to no avail. Bewdley showed again spirit but its points they need.
